The IB has stipulated several suggested topics for Part 1. You may want to cover a few of them in depth or more of them in passing. When studying a particular topic, it is important that we have many examples of language in use. In otherwords there should be a strong focus on primary sources. The lessons and activities in the following pages help you explore English in a cultural context. They are aimed to meet the relevant learning outcomes for Part 1 and build the necessary skills for the relevant forms of assessment.
